Jack the Ripper

Documentary
Available NOW £12.99

This is an intriguingly different video documentary that focuses on the 1888 East End of London & examines the social and political background to the Whitechapel atrocities in the context of an ever changing London. Dramatic reconstructions add to the weight of this compelling narrative.

As night sets in and the long shadows fall, we delve into the crooked, cobbled alleyways of Whitechapel to follow the Rippers bloodstained trail of terror. Step by bloodcurdling step you are spirited back to that spine chilling era of swirling fogs and gaslit terror to join police inspector Frederick George Abberline as he and his men hunt the Ripper through the warren of crumbling back streets.

Dare You Learn the Secret ?

Shakespeare is now in production. This one hour programme based on William Shakespeare's 'London'-life and times concentrates on both the lesser known locations as well as the favourite haunts of the London of Shakespeare - some later to feature in his theatrical productions. Many of the key street scenes have been shot following the theme of the first programme in creating dramatic reconstructions of key events.

All the programmes in the series are presented and narrated by Richard Jones who co-wrote Frommer's Walking Tours and for many years ran the highly popular guided tours around London based on these famous London figures. It is from his research that these programmes have principally been developed. Richard's experience of presenting began in the early days of Live TV.
